1990s The winds of change

The Nilfisk GM 200, designed by Jacob Jensen and Hanne Uhlig, is the start of a new generation of vacuum cleaners.

In 1998 Nilfisk expands its growing product range still further with the acquisition of Euroclean/Kent from the Swedish Electrolux group. Euroclean produces cleaning appliances for the professional market.

In 1994 the Advance Machine Company in Minneapolis, USA is acquired by Nilfisk. This marks a major strategic shift from concentrating on the manufacture of vacuum cleaners to a move into the field of floor care and cleaning appliances, and the sales force in America is boosted. Nilfisk is now one of the biggest vendors of professional cleaning appliances in the world.

In 1998, the company is re-named Nilfisk-Advance, and a new logo is introduced.
