Transport and infrastructure
Economic analyses in the field of transportation form a solid basis for difficult decicion-making.
Private transport companies are under constant pressure to deliver cheap and effective solutions – regardless of whether this involves transport by road, rail, water or in the air. These challenges are matched by the public’s desire to ensure a good infrastructure in the form of roads, railways, harbours, terminals and airports, as well as good public transport at the lowest possible cost.
We help to provide the basis for making decisions, which supports the difficult choices these challenges demand.
Why choose Incentive?
That is why we help organisations like DSB, the Ministry of Transport, Copenhagen Airports – CPH, Scandlines, DI, the Danish Road Directorate, Banedanmark, the City of Copenhagen, Metroselskabet, Femern A/S and many others.
Some of the things we help our clients with
Big data
We work with big data to make it possible for our customers to compare mobility, journey times, costs, multi-leg journeys, market share, competitive conditions etc. across markets, modes of transport and geography. We offer to supplement our own big data analyses with the customers’ own data.
Business cases
We calculate costs and incomes involved in market initiatives and investments. This includes identifying risks and calculating how much of an impact the individual components in the business case have on the effect, conclusion and recommendations.
Public transport fares
We assist all public transport companies in optimising fares and discounts. This involves evaluating the consequences for clients and profits resulting from fare reforms, new products, etc.
WE AVOID CONFLICTS OF INTEREST
We work for public authorities, private companies and interest groups. Some of these are competitors or have other types of conflicting interests.
For this reason, we only work for one client at a time within a specific field. We consider a project completed when the client has received and approved the final reporting and we have sent the last invoice. As soon as a project is completed, we can work for another authority/company/organisation in that field.
In certain subject areas, we have entered into a framework contract with an exclusive agreement. This means that in these fields, we do not work for anyone else.
In certain cases, when there is no risk of conflicting interests, we can – in full transparency – work for several clients simultaneously within the same field.
Examples of our work
Copenhagen Municipality
In this project, we analysed a reorganisation of the current car fees into a national, kilometre-based road pricing system.
The Danish Road Directorate
In collaboration with MOE, we conducted a survey of the ways in which an expansion of the E45 motorway can impact the industry in Easter Jutland based on the National Transport Model in Denmark and interviews with six companies.
Ministry of Transport
We made an analysis of the consequences of lowering the ticket raters in public transportation by 30%.
